What lands in your gutters in Surrey depends a lot on which part of Surrey you are in, and it changes what the job looks like when we get there.
Fleetwood, Newton and Guildford
The older streets here have had forty years for the trees to grow over the roofline. Big-leaf maple drops heavy, wet leaf that mats down instead of washing through, and it is usually the downspout elbows that pack solid rather than the gutter run itself.
Clayton, Grandview Heights and newer Cloverdale
Newer subdivisions, narrow lots, young street trees — and cedar hedging along almost every property line. Cedar sheds a fine scale year-round that slips straight through wide-mouth screens and settles into a dense layer at the bottom of the gutter.
South Surrey and White Rock
Closer to the bay you get wind, and wind moves debris around the roof rather than letting it sit. It ends up concentrated at one end of a run or driven under the first course of shingle, so the valleys and the roof edge are worth a look while we are up there.

Once a year is the minimum for most Surrey homes, done in late autumn after the big-leaf maples have finished dropping — which is often into November here. Homes ringed by cedar hedging are the exception: cedar sheds a fine scale all year, so those gutters usually want a second visit in spring. A newer lot in Clayton or Grandview Heights with young street trees can sometimes stretch to every 18 months.
